Our Story

Aloha! We are so grateful to have you with us on this Wood Fired Pizza and Hawaiian Shave Ice journey. Thank you for checking out our website to see what Ohana Pizza Company has to offer. Our story started in 2012, when my wife and I were married, then jetted off to Hawaii on our honeymoon. We’ve since made this an annual vacation destination and tend to count down the days when we can return again. During one of our visits we discovered a local wood fired pizzeria that we have returned to many times over. I took an interest in the art of wood fired pizza making and learned as much as possible about proofing and hydration. Using a small 900 degree wood-fired oven on our back deck we began to formulate our, made from scratch Ohana pizza dough. For those of you who ate our test pizza and gave their input to solidify the recipe, thank you! I’ve been heard to say I could eat pizza every day, my wife not so much (unless it’s Ohana Pizza), however, she could eat shave ice everyday, which is our favorite island treat. In 2020 the idea to start a food trailer was ignited, we had found our match…

We tossed around the idea of building our own food trailer, but after much research, making some good connections at The International Pizza Expo (where spinning dough is truly competitive), and many phone calls we eventually decided to save time by hiring the professionals at Concession Nation in Florida. We hit the ground running and started our design. We picked our trailer out and tailored it to how we wanted it built. The trailer arrived Spring of 2022 to serve the Chippewa Valley, the area that we call home. We are so grateful for our awesome customers, it has been a blast firing up the oven for all of you! We truly have so much fun!

“Ohana” means “Family” in Hawaiian, which for us is very important. You are likely to see our children with us at various events ready to greet and give you smiles, we call them the OTT (Official Taste Testers)!  To us this is not a job, but rather a hobby we get to share with our community!  During our family time we love to travel, read, and host friends over for dinner.  We attend a local church and cherish the people in our church.  We love to serve in our community and look forward to relationship building!

We are thankful to the family and friends who have come alongside us to make this dream a reality and look forward to what this adventure has in store.

Our hearts desire is to serve great food, love those around us, and seek to find ways to bring people together. Mahalo (thanks) for reading a small slice of our world and we look forward to serving you!
